Regular dental visits, without dental insurance

Seagrape Dental has its own yearly plan for adults who don't have dental insurance: two exams and two cleanings a year, and a written estimate before anything else. The plan is not insurance.

Before you join

What to know before you sign up

Five things people ask first: what it is, how long it lasts, how to leave, what comes back and what it leaves out.

Is the plan insurance?

No. It is not insurance: it is a membership with this practice only. It doesn't pay another dentist, it can't be used with insurance, and it doesn't cover treatment the plan doesn't list. Anything beyond the routine visits is quoted in writing before we start.

How long does it last, and does it renew by itself?

The term is 12 months from the day you join. It renews automatically each year unless you cancel, and we send you a reminder 30 days before the renewal date.

How do I cancel?

Call us, send an email or tell us at a visit, any time before the renewal date. You won't be charged for the next year.

Can I get my money back?

If you cancel within 30 days of joining, we refund the price, less any visits you have already used. After that, the year is paid and you can use the visits it includes until the term ends.

What if I need more than the routine visits?

Dr. Barksdale explains the options and what each one costs, and you get an estimate in writing. Nothing starts until you say yes.

The Seagrape Plan

One plan, with its terms beside the price

The plan covers routine visits for one set amount a year. It is the practice's own membership, not insurance, and it can't be used with insurance. The price below is an example the practice replaces with its own.

  • Seagrape Plan, adult

    Yearly fee: ask the office

Routine care for one adult, paid once a year, with no insurance involved.

    • Two exams and two cleanings a year
    • Routine X-rays, when Dr. Barksdale says you need them
    • A written estimate before any other treatment
    • Treatment beyond the routine visits
    • Insurance coverage of any kind
    Term:
12 months, renewing automatically each year unless you cancel.
    Cancellation:
Cancel by phone, email or at a visit before the renewal date. We send a reminder 30 days before.
    Refunds:
Cancel within 30 days of joining and we refund the price, less any visits already used.

Not insurance. Cannot be combined with insurance.

A year with the plan

What the card gets you, and what it doesn't

Routine care is covered by the yearly price. Everything else is a written estimate first.

  • Two exams

Twice a year Dr. Barksdale looks at your teeth and gums and tells you what she sees.

  • Two cleanings

A cleaning at each of those visits, so small problems stay small.

  • Routine X-rays

Taken when she says you need them, not on a schedule for its own sake.

  • A written estimate

For a filling, a crown or anything else the plan doesn't list, the fee in writing before we start.

Joining

Talk it through before you pay for the year

You can come in for a first visit as a regular patient, hear the fee for what you need and decide about the plan afterward.

Anayeli at the front desk explains how the plan and per-visit fees compare for the visits you expect, on paper, so you can take it home.

  • No pressure to join at the first visit

  • Per-visit fees quoted in writing

  • The terms are on the plan card
